This replacement headstone unfortunately has incorrect birth information, probably as a result of misreading the original illegible headstone.
Austin Pye was actually born about 1810 in Norfolk, England, the son of John Pye and Sarah Austin. He came to America in 1846 and two years later married Betsey Sucher. Born Betsey Thatcher, she had two children from her first marriage. Her children from her first marriage, Ann Eliza and Alice were adopted by Henry Pye and apparent raised as his own. Austin Pye passed away in 1861. His widow, Betsey, moved to Chino, California to live with her daughter where she passed away in 1886.
