Charles Bartee was born in England in 1833. After moving to America he married Scottish born Jane McGregor in 1858. By 1875 they made their way to Downers Grove. They bought the farm next to John and Sarah Attwood. They lived here until 1891 when they moved to Remington, Indiana. While Charles has a marker in the cemetery, only his daughter Mary Bartee is buried here.
