Please join the Downers Grove Historical Society and the Downers Grove Library on October 14 when the Historical Society will honor the Library as its Historic Site of the Year.
This special date is the 110th anniversary of the library. Guests will have an opportunity to walk around and view displays, including historical photos and information. Historical Society Board member Lois Sterba will give a presentation on the history of the library and of Carnegie libraries. Concurrently, there will be walk-in activities for younger guests in the Childrens’ section.
Following, at the main entrance on Curtiss St., there will be short remarks by Library staff and an unveiling of the commemorative plaque.
Light refreshments will be provided by the Library in the café area.
