Built in 1931, the home at at 4425 Wilson Avenue has recently been accepted in the Downers Grove Historic Home Program. The house is a beautifully restored Tudor Revival home that connects Downers Grove’s rich architecture. Brent and Shuan Knipfer have preserved hallmark features—steep gables, beamed ceilings, arched doorways, and an ornate three-level chimney—while completing period-correct restorations that honor its early 20th-century craftsmanship. The Leuschner House, named for its’ original owners, stands as a proud example of Downers Grove’s enduring commitment to preservation.
