The Downers Grove Historical Society is deeply saddened to learn about the passing of Shirley Johnson, co-owner of Classic Cinemas and Downers Grove’s beloved Tivoli Theatre. The Historical Society honored Shirley and her late husband Willis (1937-2023) with our 2023 Historians of the Year award last May. The Historical Society extends our heartfelt condolences to the entire Johnson family.
