Arvilla Bond was born in Ohio in 1846. Her father, William Bond, who was a veteran of the War of 1812, married Engelica Woodruff in New York. The family moved to Naperville shortly after the birth of Arvilla. After her husband John died in 1932, Arvilla went to live with her son William on Prospect Avenue. On Christmas Eve of 1936 she fell and broke her leg. Two weeks later she passed away and was buried with the family in the family plot in Main Street Cemetery.
