Dr. Dieter Martin Gruen is a German-born American scientist and long-time Downers Grove resident. He earned degrees from Northwestern University and the University of Chicago and worked on the Manhattan Project. Before retiring in 2112, Gruen worked for over 60 years at Argonne National Laboratory.
