We are pleased to honor filmmaker and volunteer Jim Toth as the 2024 Historian of the Year.
Each year the Downers Grove Historical Society recognizes a person who has contributed to the Society’s mission of celebrating and preserving Downers Grove history.
Jim has donated countless hours of his time to the creation of a series of documentaries focusing on different aspects of Downers Grove history. He will be honored on Wednesday, May 1 during our annual Tivoli Theatre event. The celebration will be followed by the premiere showing of Jim’s most recent film The 1846 Blodgett House which tells the story of the Blodgett family, their home, and the underground railroad in Downers Grove.
