Events

Plans and organizes 5-10 events annually to celebrate DG history.

Main Street Cemetery

Works with the Village to maintain and preserve the historic Main Street Cemetery.

Historic Home Program

Helps homeowners researching their homes history and applying to the Historic Home Program.

FoundersFest

Plans the week-long celebration of DG founders and history.

Membership

Maintains membership records and actively recruits new members.

Recognition

Organizes and manages awards and ceremonies, including:

  • Historian of the Year
  • Historic Sites
  • Montrew Dunham Award
  • Founder of the Year
Communications

Promotes Society programs and events through social media and other channels. Researches and writes articles for the Historical Society’s website and quarterly newsletter. Maintains WordPress website and/or work with Yapsody, MailChimp, CRM or Adobe Creative Suite

Volunteers are always welcome! You don’t need to be a Society member to volunteer, though committee members must be official members of the Historical Society.
