John Venard built this landmarked Craftsman style American Foursquare in 1914 and lived in the house with his wife Frieda and daughters Ruth and Florence. John was a Downers Grove postman for 51 years before retiring in 1957. The Venard family owned this home for 60 years and made very few changes to it during that time.
For more information, see the Village of Downers Grove Landmarking Resolution for this house.
