Johan Georg and Elizabethe Gros Suchar were early settlers of Downers Grove. They are the progenitors of the Sucher family in Downers Grove. They were the parents of at least eight children. Note the headstone spelling of the family name is Suchar. Their family name, like many others, was apparently changed or “Americanized” after the move to America.
