This property was originally owned by Orange Lyman who was an preacher and early settler of Downers Grove. The home was once believed to be a stop on the Underground Railroad. At one point this historic home was to be demolished but the process was stopped and the home saved.
The original carriage house has been replaced with much larger 2-story garage.
